The Torture Begins....

I created this new blog to track my torture journey to running a 5k. The program I am doing is called Couch25k and you can find it on here. The program has you running 3 times a week. You start out with a warm up then alternate running and walking for 20 minutes followed by a cool down. You increase your running time and shortened you walking time over a course of 9 weeks. By the time you finish the course you should be able to run a 5k aka 3.1 miles.

I actually started Couch25k last Sunday and I have completed week 1. The first day was hard but I survived. The 2nd day my breathing was fine but my shins were killing me. So I stretched and stretched. The 3rd day they were still a little painful but easy to deal with.

This Sunday I start week 2. I have to run a full 90 seconds then walk for 2 minutes. I would love to be able to run a half a mile or 3 miles total. I have some plans for registering for some 5k in the near future but I want to get further into the program before spending the money. Check back soon to read more!
